Rocks, rivers and dinosaur bones

If you squint you can see a prong horn sheep in the black circle.

Cattle and sheep farms intermingle with the state park.

The Green River flows throughout the park next to towering rock formations.

A panoramic of the Green River boat launch area.

Kate drove us through a hidden road to find petroglyphs.

These petroglyphs were created thousands of years ago.

The rock colors are so varied in Dinosaur National Monument.

One cool spot in the park was the Wall of Bones. Discovered in 1909, the paleontologist ensured that this area was preserved so a building was erected around the wall of bones. Hundreds of finds were discovered on this dig and over many years, the remains of a variety of dinosaurs from Vernal have been put on display throughout the United States.

Touching dinosaur bones is very exciting.

Jaws, spines and assorted dino parts fill the wall.

In a remote place in the park is this cabin where a woman lived independently for over 50 years. She raised livestock, planted flowers and crops and lived alone until she died at 90 years old. A true pioneer.

Beautiful views around every corner of the park.

Rock towers.

The famous gecko petroglyph is hidden in this rock wall.

Twisted trees dot the landscape.

The scenic overlook of the Green River.

People own long horn cattle, horses and cows. Even small houses had animals in the yard.
